Milagritos
The National Center for Farmworker Health asked PMP to document the need for decent, affordable housing for migrant farmworkers. Following farmworkers in Michigan, California, and Maryland's eastern shore, the video shows how lacking decent housing, migrant workers often end up in overcrowded housing, some lacking drinking water, bathing facilities, and adequate sanitation. Lacking decent housing, some farmworker families sleep in tents, cars, ditches, or open fields. |
 |
Public Media Productions recruited Martin Sheen to narrate and appear on-camera. The video raises awareness of the need for adequate housing for farmworkers and their families and shows the relationship between poor housing for migrant farmworkers and public health. |
